THINGS TO DO AT BRONTE CREEK
PROVINCIAL PARK

When you live at Glen Abbey Encore, you’ll have nature right in your neighbourhood. Fourteen Mile Creek conservation lands surround the community and Bronte Creek Provincial Park is located right across the street. This 6.4 square kilometre park is a huge natural area that attracts families from all over the region for its many great activities and amenities. Discover some of the most exciting things you can explore on your next visit.

hiking and biking

Hiking & Biking

Bronte Creek includes 5 great hiking trails. Maiden's Blush Trail (1km) is a nicely paved trail that is great for walking, in-line skating and bicycling. This trail is wheelchair accessible and is also great for families with strollers. The Trillium Trail (1km) is the best place to see spring wildflowers. Biking is not allowed, but the trail is wheelchair and stroller friendly. The Ravine Trail (2.7 km) is a more challenging option that meanders along the top of the valley between Spruce Lane Farm and a picnic area. Gateway Trail (1.5 km) is another great option located in the campground area. Half Moon Valley Trail (2km) offers an informative MP3 audio tour of the Bronte Creek Valley and the park's early history.

Discovery Program

The discovery program is held through two interpretive centres, The Spruce Lane Farmhouse and The Nature Centre. These centres include museum-style displays, a live turtles exhibit and more. There is a range of family programs and events offered at the interpretive centres from March until December every year.

Incredible Swimming

Bronte Creek offers visitors access to one of Canada's largest outdoor pools. It is 1.8 acres in area, and feels much more like a natural pond or lake than a traditional pool. The circular format means you can wade in the shallow end all around like a beach, or swim in further to explore the 2-metre deep middle.

Children's Farm

Another favourite at Bronte Creek is the Children's Farm. The centrepiece of the farm is a 19th century barn that has been converted into a play loft and activity area. The kids will also have a chance to interact with numerous farm animals including pigs, chickens, rabbits, goats and sheep. There are so many great ways to spend fun filled days at Bronte Creek Park. In addition to the main amenities here, there is also a disc golf course, fishing and more. With so much happening here, we're sure you'll make many encore visits when you call Glen Abbey Encore home.
